In 2014 Fair Food Farmers United (FFFU), the farmers’ branch of the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance (AFSA), surveyed farmers’ experiences and views on fairness in the food system.

We’re delighted to hereby release the report from that survey:

As a result of findings in that survey, we are keen to hear more about farmers’ particular experiences with regulatory frameworks.

Your stories will inform our work to support producers in complying with what can be a confusing array of regulations, administered by multiple authorities. They will also help focus our efforts to work with local, state and federal governments for reform where appropriate. We seek to ensure that regulations enable rather than disable innovation in local food production, while maintaining Australia’s high standards in food safety.

If you are a farmer…

Upcoming event…

And we’d love to see you at our event on 24 February 2015 hosted in collaboration with the Monash University Law Faculty and the Victorian Farmers Market Association (VFMA) – ‘Is everything I want to do really illegal? Australian regulators enabling fair food’.
