Join our team: AFSA National Committee

We are seeking nominations from people interested in joining our National Committee. We have a vacancy after the resignation of Vice President Nick Holliday, who is facing an even higher workload than usual in the face of major climate events impacting the farm. So while we are looking for a new general Committee member, we would like this person to be willing and able to step into the VP in the near future.

The Vice President is responsible for assisting the President to fulfil their responsibilities for the governance and success of the organisation. They also work to optimise the relationship between the Committee, volunteers, and members, to achieve the organisation’s agreed goals through membership drives and engagement. The Vice President typically fills in for the President when they are on leave. Note: To nominate for this role, you must be a current AFSA member. We strongly encourage First Peoples, women, gender diverse and young people in farming to apply for this role.

To nominate for a role on the AFSA National Committee, please send an EOI with short bio to admin@afsa.org.au by Monday 11 April, or contact AFSA President, Tammi Jonas for more information: president@afsa.org.au. The National Committee will consider all expressions of interest and notify the person successful in being co-opted into the role by Friday 22 April. A member of the Committee will then be elected as the new Vice President.

Get involved: AFSA Sub-Committees & Working Groups

Our National Committee is now seeking nominations to join AFSA sub-committees and working groups across a range of priority areas:

If you’d like to be involved in any of the above organising groups, please send us a CV and short cover letter to admin@afsa.org.au.

For those currently or previously involved in AFSA sub-committees, we will be in touch over the next few weeks to confirm if you’d like to remain active in upcoming projects. Once we’ve gathered interested and active members for each of these groups, planning sessions will occur to collectively determine the priorities, work plans and structures of each group. We’re really excited to have a broader group of our members pitching in to make real change.
