The 2007 Nyéléni Forum for Food Sovereignty was a seminal moment in the development of this global movement. As the Declaration from that Forum records, more than 500 representatives from over 80 countries across the world jointly articulated their needs and demands for change in the way that the global food system is currently operated.

The Nyéléni newsletter was launched in September last year to provide a means for networking the growing global food sovereignty movement, and for sharing stories of food sovereignty successes from all over the world.
