The Federal Government is forming sectoral plans towards Net Zero by 2050.

We are concerned at the lack of systemic analysis and proposals for action. AFSA and the global food sovereignty movement are opposed to Net Zero approaches to climate action, and call for radical transformation or food and agriculture systems.

That’s why we’re asking you to take our survey to inform AFSA’s submission to Government, which will advocate for agroecological approaches to reduce emissions in food and agriculture systems.

Your responses will help us understand what people across the food system, from farmers to eaters, are concerned about and are doing to combat climate change.

Submissions to the Federal Government close on 13 December, although AFSA has called for an extension to allow enough time to carefully consider its response to proposed plans.

The decision to extend the deadline is pending, so please fill out the survey as soon as possible, so that AFSA can send in a submission that captures the full scope of our membership.

To find out more about why AFSA advocates for agroecology, be sure to read the updated Peoples’ Food Plan draft. To join the fight for food sovereignty, become an AFSA member!
